Jamie is a licensed professional engineer, and has over 25 years experience in the waste management and environmental services industry. After attending graduate school in environmental engineering at Duke University, Mr. Ecker joined NEO in 1989 as a project engineer and manager of the Hawk Ridge Compost Facility in Unity, ME, New England’s first regional biosolids composting facility. Since that time, Jamie held positions of increasing responsibility in the organization, specializing in operations management, facilities development, and technology review. In 1996 he was appointed General Manager of the Division. Under his leadership, the company has been recognized with numerous state and national awards for its achievements and innovations, including the Maine Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence, and the USEPA Beneficial Use of Sludge Award. Jamie has served on several boards, including the Environmental and Energy Business Council of Maine, and the North East Biosolids & Residuals Association.
He is active in his community where he has served on the Town Comprehensive Planning Committee and coaches kids sports.
